Supporting East Lancashire Trust

DGCOS’ Membership Relationship Officer, Mark Moffet, is an avid charity supporter.

Each year he takes part in a charity event and he has completed numerous walks such as The Kennett and Avon Canal in 2016, raising money for various charities.

This year, on 18 August, Mark, his wife & sister-in-law (pictured below) took part in the East Lancashire Hospital Charity Morecambe Bay Walk to help raise funds to improve patient experience across East Lancashire.

In Mark’s words:

The 10-mile walk was led by the Queen’s Official Guide to the Sands, 83-year old Cedric Robinson MBE. Starting off in Arnside at 11.00am, Cedric and his guides led our group of fundraisers for 4-hours straight, over sand, through water and across marshes, to Kents Bank.

Almost 500 people took part in the walk, raising funds for different charities, and a fantastic time was had by all.

Our efforts raised just short of £500 for East Lancashire Hospital Trust which we hope will help make a difference for the patients in their care. Thank you to all who supported us… until next year!!”
