DGCOS provides consumers a free dispute resolution service, which includes; Mediation, Independent Inspections (to assist with installation/product defects at DGCOS discretion), access to an Ombudsman and access to a Compensation Fund. Mediation is designed to bring the matter to a speedy conclusion. Over 82% of complaints are resolved through mediation. If an agreement cannot be reached, the case can then be referred to the Ombudsman, who will consider the evidence presented by both parties and make an Award, which becomes binding on the member.
